Pin 12 is official available

microbit device pinsPin 12 on the micro:bit was reserved for other uses but has now been released for general use.

This means it can definitely be used for a robot driver board to allow two motors to be controlled for forward & backward movement.

My robot, a ChickBot micro:bit prototype, had used pin 12 but it’s use was off-book. With this news I can plough on with making a driver board for a micro:bit to plug in to.

I’m hoping the evil genius R&D department can find a way of hacking a speed control out of the outputs we have available from within the block editor – fingers crossed!
